Will I be leading the activities by myself?
No, you will have at least one partner. You'll work together to support the students and each other.
Will I need to dedicate time outside of my volunteer hours to prepare for the activities?
No, there is no preparation necessary. All activities will be prepared for you, and you will have access to the materials before students join your Zoom room.
Will I have support from Outreach360?
Yes, each time you connect, you will receive guidance from an Outreach360 teacher or leader before students join your Zoom room. You'll also be able to ask the teacher or leader for support during the course of the activities.
How will I benefit from volunteering?
You will gain leadership skills in Spanish as well as experience working with children. Volunteering will also help you grow your creativity, adaptability, initiative, Spanish public speaking skills, critical thinking skills, confidence, and comfort working virtually - an increasingly prevalent skillset.
How will Outreach360 Virtual English Academy students benefit from my service?
The time you spend with our students will have an incredible impact on their education and inspire them to get excited about learning as well as the opportunity to expand their horizons, develop their critical thinking skills, and learn about the world. Not only that, but the program donation you raise provides this opportunity at no cost to our students' families. We can guarantee that taking time out of your week to serve our students will make a real difference.
Why is there an application and selection process?
The Outreach360 Virtual English Academy is a rigorous program in which the students receive daily instruction. The goal of our application process is to get to know the personality and skills of our applicants in order to determine the best fit for our students and all parties involved.
What Our Students Are Saying
What Our Volunteers Are Saying
¡Primeramente, adquirí conocimientos no solo de mi país sino de otros lugares con personas dispuestas a contribuir con mi aprendizaje y formación; por eso estoy más que agradecida!
You are the best!I really appreciate your help and the basic knowledge you've given me!
Thank you very much for everything!I had a lot of fun, and I'm sure this will help me in school!
¡Gracias por el tiempo invertido y por el aprendizaje que no han dado! ¡Ha sido una experiencia muy agradable!
This experience reminded me of what it's like to be a kid. All my students have endless dreams for their futures and show up to class everyday with so much joy and gratitude for the opportunity to learn. To be able to play a small role in building towards their dreams is a very humbling experience that I will always cherish. In many ways, they have all played a part in creating my future, and I plan to carry their joy and gratefulness with me beyond this virtual program.
