My name is Dante Tomaselli and I live in Kennesaw, Georgia. I am currently in high school at North Cobb Christian School. My parents once volunteered with Outreach360 and I wanted to check it out for myself!
I have always loved teaching children and I love the joy that it brings. I knew it was going to be a great experience from the way my parents spoke so highly of it. It was everything I thought it was going to be and more. It was interactive, the leaders were helpful, and I really enjoyed getting to know my fellow teachers on a personal level.
Through my first year with Outreach360, I have learned how to be patient, understanding, energetic, and also learned the importance of education. The Spanish class was amazing and very interactive and it helped me to better understand the culture of Nicaragua. It also gave me the opportunity to interact with students there.
The experience that you receive by serving with Outreach360 gives you the tools to be the best teacher you can be for your students. I learned how to be engaging with the students and how important a bond is in order to understand their different needs and values.
I would highly recommend this program to anyone because it is a great way to learn how to become a better teacher, especially if you are looking to major in the education field. It also helped me improve my Spanish! The most important thing I tell my students is to take education seriously, do the right thing, always value themselves and others, and to have clear goals and ambitions in mind.
