Your funds will be used to pay for the on-going programming needs at a Learning Center - local staff, curriculum, supplies, pre-school nutrition program, maintenance, and more. We estimate the ongoing budget needs will be $25/month for each student enrolled in our program.
This fund is meant to honor the memory of John Steve Carbonell Catilo, a University of Virginia spring break volunteer who joined us in the Dominican Republic in 2004. John had a huge passion for giving back to children. He tragically passed away in a boating accident while teaching boating skills to young people in Virginia just three months after his short time with us. John Steve is deeply missed by his family and friends.
